Right now im in algebra 2 as a junior and i wanted to take pre cal in the summer in order to take AP Calculus next year. Is that possible if i take it at community college? Did i have to notify the school that I did it because my school try hard not let me do it. I know pre cal is hard but ill do it if that possible.

Yes it is possible. Some community college require you to take Trignometery before you can take Pre-Calculus but if you go talk to a councelor he/she will be more than happy to override it for you and allow you to take Pre-Calculus if you wish. Pre-calculus is tough matter fact I personally think pre-calculus is actually harder than calculus it self. But if you stay focused and do all of your homework on daily bases you will do fine. And yes you will have to notify your H.S. regardless because when you come back to take Calculus AP it is going to be there decision to if they will give you the credit for pre-calculus class that you took at the C-College. So check with them see if its okay because there is no point taking it at C-College if your HS is not even going to give you credit for it... it would be waste of money and time. Good Luck with your studies. Take care.

ya i think it is possible. i had a friend do the same but took algebra 2 at the community college during the summer to take pre cal honors in the school year. you need to make sure that the credits can be transfered to your school /that the class satisfies the same material as the algebra 2 class at your school so you need to talk to your counselor about that. i dont know why your school wouldnt want to let you do it as long as you pass the class in the summer. but i suggest you give it a try

I know in BC we can take college courses and get high school credits for them. I'm sure it works the same way where you are. AP Calculus is REALLY tough so be prepared to spend a lot of time on it, I took the course!
