...there have been mentioned many well-talked-about cinematic dance sequences...the hot twist dance sequence between John Travolta and Uma Thurman, in 1994's "Pulp Fiction"...again, with John Travolta, and his smokin' hot solo dance sequence, to the beat of the Bee Gee's "You Should Be Dancing", in "Saturday Night Fever", from 1977.....the oh-so steamy and erotic dance sequences in 1987's "Dirty Dancing" (I might be in the minority, having like the sequences between Patrick Swayze and Cynthia Rhodes much more than those with Jennifer Grey)....even the fashion strut competition sequence between Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in 2001's "Zoolander"!!!

...however, the one sexy and inspirational dance sequence, which ultimately proved to be most-talked-about, controversial, and even heavily media-covered, was the final audition/qualification sequence at the end of "Flashdance", where Jennifer Beal's character was nervously attempting to apply for student position in a formal dance school. The controversy originated via an ever-growing rumor that Jennifer Beal had a stand-in for this sequence (as well as a couple of other sequences in the film); it was finally revealed several months after the film left the theatrical circuit, that she did, in fact, use a stand-in, while doing the scene.
