what do you think of the name Mia Ashley, its been a favorite of mine for years..but now that I am thinking of concieving I am leaning toward Sofia...which name do you like better..or suggest a great one ..thanks

A girlfriend of mine just named her baby Mia. Personally I think it's a beautiful name! It's very unique, but it's not one of those overly complicated names. If you've loved it for years, chances are you'll regret not going with your favorite! Congrats on the baby!

it seems there is a trend at the moment toward Mia. I've seen a lot of baby girls named this in the past few years. However I do like it more than Sofia. I always think of the country Hungaury where Sophia is the capital city.

Me-ah or My-ah Ashley, I like Me-ah personally. I don't really care for Sofia. Well the good thing is you have lots of time to go through name books. I wanted Serendipity from the time i was 16 then at about 7 months pregnant i was looking at other names and also fell in love with Emma Leigh Grace, but went back to Serendipity at 8 months. When you find the right name you won't be swayed by others opinions.

Both are lovely.
Mia (also spelt Miia in Finland) is rising in popularity though.
Sophia, and Sophie have always been quite popular, but I think that long term popularity reduces the 'fad' risk; it may be popular but it is timeless and tested.
By the way, I think of Sofia as slightly different to Sophia, with sOFia having a strong middle emphasis and SOphia emphasising the beginning, but in a softer fashion.
I prefer Sophia/e slightly more, and Sofia converts to sofa more easily, but that isnt that great an insult to be honest!
I used to call my sister Sophie soapy sofa, but no one else did and it was more of an annoyance to her than bullying.
Aaaanyway, do what you wish, both are lovely names.

I have always adored the name Mia. Sophia is pretty too. What’s wrong with having the same name as a Golden Girl? At least Sophia was the feisty one of the bunch. Stick with Mia. You have loved it for so long, you might regret using a different name.

I think Mia is a gorgeous name, but I'm not too fond of Ashley for either a first or middle name.
