With a 35% approval rating George W. Bush is still being praised with faint damns. He has been the most dishonest pork barrelling hack to hold the office since Warren Gamaliel Harding, and history will condemn not just him and his flunkies, but will also blame the ignorant fools who elected him.
How can the Democrats not want that to get out? Congress is not the gauge by which you measure the prevailing political currents: the White House is. What these polls are saying is that we moderates have had it with the partisan, corrupt Republican buffoons.
We warned you last year when we took your majorities away, but you would not listen. Come 2008 we will elect a Democratic President, probably Hillary Clinton, and a large majority of Democrats in both Houses of Congress. That is not because we like them, but because we hate the GOP.
What would upset them more than another eight years of President Clinton? We want government for all the people, not a bunch of bullies and con artists, and that is all the Republicans have to offer. They will be downsized.
The Democrats had better be watching, too. We want civility, reasoned debate and compromise. That is what this country was founded on, and what made it great. Ignore us at your peril.
So go ahead, brag about a 65% disapproval rating. Here comes the hammer.

The Democrats in Congress have a higher rating than the president. Congress as a whole has a 34% rating. Congress usually has a lower percentage of approval than 1% compared to the president. Your bragging about 35%? Hillary's is 51, during Bill Clinton's final year it was 52%

The congress was controlled by Republicans for 12 years and by Democrats for 4 months! What do you think it means? And both bodies, especially the Senate , are both almost half full of Republicans!
I think the president should have gotten the message in 2006, but he is just stupid! The rest of the Republicans will find out in 2008, the rest of the message!

Yeah, big secret. Congress' approval rating is usually in the toilet because they get paid a lot and they always seem to be taking nice long vacations, there's no rules about how many votes you have to actually attend etc. It's nothing new.
