Peoria, IL used to be used as the nations "normal" city as far as demographic statistics. Is there a new city that now holds this title?

I didn't know they handed out such a title or if it is in contention. There was an article recently about diversity in cities in the papers, you might find it on-line somewhere. It was of interest here, since Washington DC, which was called a "chocolate city" because of its high percent of black population, had the percent drop to 55% of the city, while the white, hispanic and Asian percentage were going up.

According to the only website I found speaking about the present, it is Wichita Falls, Texas.
