what does north, south, east, and west symbolize?

Need this for my poetry.

North: Tranquility, wisdom, knowledge, steadfastness, comfort, maturity,security.

East: Birth, rebirth, refreshment, awakening, awe, openness, innocence, seeking.

South: Passion, excitement, accomplishment, exploring, pioneering, adventure.

West: Finalization, completion, resolution, winding-down, gathering together.

They were dwarfs in norse mythology that guarded each entry point to Asgard, probably of no use whatsoever to you.
