hate is just the outward expression of either fear, misunderstanding, and is usually caused by lack of education and/or resources. Hate is also the easy way out and humans are very similar to the way nature works in that we do always tend to look for the easiest way.

I don't know the answer to that. There's definitely not just one explanation. Others have given good answers, like the gap between the rich and poor. That definitely causes resentment. By extension, any kind of oppression lends itself to hatred.

Another reason could be that hatred, or at least aggressive behavior, is a misplaced response to painful emotions, or physical pain itself. In a famous psychological experiment (see source), when two birds in the same cage received an electric shock, they attacked one another, even though the shock was at the hand of a human. Take-home lesson: Everyone blames something.

One reason I see is that people believe their own opinions are right while other opinions are wrong, and why shouldn't we? We only have access to our own thoughts. A consequence is that we feel righteous in judging other people the way we do. As an example, think of the people that camp out outside prisons on the day of an execution just to cheer when they hear that it's done. That's hatred to me.

Hatred is the ugliest thing to see in a person, yet it would seem that we all have it in us, or that we can learn it (I may be projecting, but it's more likely than not). It makes me very sad, this life.

There are many reasons why there is so much hate in today's world.
Ignorance is a large part. Many people go by old ways. Not accepting change or the ideals and ideas of others.
Religious persecution, people forcing religion on others. People trying to wipe out those who don't want to convert or accept a religion.
Countries fighting over land.
Men or women entering into power and having men, women and children killed because of old hatred.
It's human nature to want to hate and kill one another. Ignorance and hypocrisy will always be around, even when there are only a few hundred of us left.

I think it is part of who we are, although it was not originally intended to be that way. Adam and Eve didn't hate each other or anyone else, except maybe Satan and it's okay to hate him. Granted there was no one else around, but hatred for other people entered the world through their sin. Before they ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they didn't even know what evil was. They also got along perfectly all the time, until they were confronted by God with their sin. At that point, Adam blamed Eve for his fall, so there was a division in their relationship for the first time. There was division in their relationships with God too at that point. Adam and Eve were created to have dominion, that is, to govern the earth. They lost the ability to do that. Satan took their dominion for himself. This is why all gov'ts have so many problems. Fallen mankind simply cannot manage this earth very well anymore. Everything that has ever gone wrong in the history of the world traces back to that one event. In fact, I read somewhere that if we really understood the damage done at the fall in Eden, we would probably be amazed that anything good happens in this world.

The good part is that God sent Jesus Christ to die for us so that we can be redeemed. He rose again to demonstrate that He had won the victory over sin and death. Being redeemed means that we become better people morally, that we have more control over ourselves than we had before although the dominion thing has been severely hampered irrevocably, and that our relationships with our friends and family can be restored with time, that is if they're redeemed too. Finally, it means that we can go to heaven when we die. It's really cool.

Interesting question. I think it may have partly to due with our intelligence. With higher order brain function, comes the capacity for either great love or great hate, of which has always existed in some measure. For example, if you look at the animal world, it is basically nonexistent as far as we can see. They live simply, eating, sleeping, raising their young, trying to survive, without all of the other intricacies of higher order functioning.

As far as specific answers, i believe the major reason is that there is no real world unity. We fragment, we separate and create hundreds of different groups, religions, that we become identified by. People soon forget that we are all one, all members of the human race. And when we fragment society so much, it suffers greatly. Instead of accepting others as humans we stigmatize others..i.e.."He's black", "she's muslim", "oh he's a liberal", "he's poor", "she's jewish". These terms get so ingrained into our thought process that we identify people based on little sub groups instead of ultimately recognizing them first off as a human being.

Read "The Secret"....it is all about what you pay attention to and how like energy attracts like energy, so if you believe there is a lot of hate in the world, then that is what you are pay attention to....What does that say about you?

I think there is a lot of love in the world and that is what I am choosing to focus on...."hate" is a symptom of fear. You should pity people who live in hate, because they are afraid of really embracing life.

How would the world be a different place, if every time someone was hateful to us instead of responding with hate we walked up to that person and hugged them? How different would the world be if all the soldiers laid down their weapons and listened to one another's stories?

When I look at people who are struggling I remind myself they are someone's child. What made them come to this place in their life? How can we help them shift perspective?

When you raise your own vibration to think only about love and light, then you see only love and light. It does not mean the world is perfect, only that you attract the perfection. All of this is an illusion of our creation. Choose responsibly what you want to create.

People are afraid of difference. But little do we all know, Hate is what everyone has deep down inside....it's what makes us human...it's what makes us vulnerable.

Hate is a defense, for things different. Hate is the easy way out.

People hate because it's so easy to do...

I agree with another answerer here, I think it's an immature indulgence. But there are so many other reasons, lack of understanding or education, feelings of helplessness and victimization, pain, fear of differences. I think we're educated to hate.

If you look at the history you will find that hate is very important for the humans. Why? Because we are selfish and intolerant.
The history is repeating over and over again.
