What features must an organism have in order to survive in a sewer?

What physical and physiological features should an organism have in order to survive in a storm sewer? What kind of organism would it be? (any imaginary creature)

Good immune system. Rats do very well in sewers as do cockroaches. It is just extremely unpleasant to humans but it isn't really that toxic to many other animals. Not much oxygen in the water though.
