It is an Irish LAST NAME, it means "SALMON" in Gaelic so I guess if you want to name your kid after a fish...

I know I really dislike people giving surnames as first names. I dont mind names with odd meanings (hey might be a way to get the kid to eat fish/be interested in nature) but the last name thing annoys me.

It's funny you know, people spend so much time choosing a name with a good ' meaning'. If you actually reaserch long enough you will see that one name can have many meanings. That can make it ultra confusing.

So my theory is this, don't bother choosing a name because of its 'meaning' cos chances are it doesn't mean what you think it does. Just choose a name that you like, as long as you keep in mind that the child has to grow up and spend the rest of his/her life with that name.

I quite like the name Braydon.

Cheers.

i dont care for it myself.i have heard it as a last name and that sounds rather manly.for a first name i would say brady is a better choice.i know people with that name.but to each their own i have heard worse at least it sounds like a real name not something someone made up trying to be cool!
