I was just reading the story on Yahoo about how they might grant the "Illegal Immigrants" citizenship. So basically, these people broke the law, and we are going to give them what they want?

What is the message here? Our laws are just a formality and you really don't have to follow them if you don't want. If someone robs a bank are we going to punish him by giving him bags of money?

And all the politicians get what they want. And all the illegal immigrants get what they want. How about us voters? We didn't want this. Don't they listen?

It is wrong, if they don't follow the immigration laws how can we expect to have them follow any other laws? Illegal is illegal period and should not be rewarded especially when there are people in countries all over the world waiting years on lists to get into our country the legal way. Giving citizenship will only encourage more illegal immigrants.

The best thing you can do is contact your congressman and senator and voice your opinion. The trouble is too many people sit back and complain about it but don't do anything productive to make their voice heard. While the illegals take to the streets in protests.

We should not. All that would do is show others, that we no respect for our laws. It would also be a slap in the face to all who, did the paper work, payed all the fees, and then waited in line, to come here legally. Then after being here for years, took classes to learn english, more paper work, and also learned what they would need to know in order to pass the test. If we grant any form of amnesty, we would be spitting on the graves of all of those that did it the hard way, always with in the law. As for this work that Americans will not do, the illegal immigrants seem to think that these jobs were thought up just for them.

The illegal inmigrants will have to jump thru several hoops before they can even apply for citizenship.Considering the contributions that this group makes to this country it was the only sane thing to do. I know the simplistic answer people generally want is to round up all the illegals and send them back, but illegal inmigration is anything but simple,if it would have been controlled decades ago,we wouldn't have had this problem but we do.The important thing that we should focus on is how to stop the flow of people now.We have all the resources to truly secure our borders, what we lack is the political will.

Granting illegal immigrants citizenship my answer "No". if they want citizenship let them go back to their country's and come back with legal doucments and appy for citizenship.Legal immigrants came to America by the boat loads they helped build our cities. They gave to the American people 1 thing that the illegal immigrants hasnt given its one word Respect.

Obviously you did not read the part where they start out on non immigrant visas and the part where their is no guarantee of US Citizenship. All this does is say you are now here legally. Then it says if you follow certain protocal you might have a chance to become a US Citizen. there is no guarantee.

If they grant amnesty to the illegals then U.S Citizenship is worthless.

Note: And jumping the border was not the ony law they might be breaking.
Add Forging of documents and identity theft if applicable.
And I am sure it is in many of the cases.

Bad analogy!

It is the people who hire them that want to keep them here. And no one said anything about giving them citizenship!

By the way, hiring illegals is a crime, being one is not! What analogy are you going to use for those who ARE the problem?

You said it well. Too bad our representative do not represent the people who elected them to office.
