Maybe $50-100? You could get by on less if you invest in cloth diapers and get the clouthes and toys second hand.
EDIT:
Wow... people seriously spend 500/mo on a baby??? They dont even know the difference between new toys and old toys! Save the money for college and do things as cheap as possible!
Even with disposable diapers, i can't imagine i spend more than $100/mo on my son... What on earth kind of fancy crap are you people buying??

expenses all depend on if it is your first child. i had my first child a month ago and right now I only spend about $50 a wk if that. I got alot of diapers and wipes at my baby shower and from complete strangers. I din't even have to buy things for the baby except a couple of bottle and things I really wanted... not needed... and I am a single mother... getting NO help... and I don't get a welfare check. There are ways to make sure you get everything you need without going completely broke and making sure you are in the clear. One note though... pay the medical bills as soon as you can... while you can... and stock up on things like wipes and diapers (size 1 and 2 diapers)... that way when the baby comes... you don't have to worry about them for a good month or two.

I'm not really sure but I do have one girl and this is the way you can figure it up.
You are going to need to buy formula if you don't breast feed that cost anywhere from $18 to $32 a can.
You are going to have to buy some bottles for the formula which will cost probably $20 to $30 for a least 5 bottles.
You are going to need bibs which is going to be another $20 or so.
You will need clothes depending on what kind you get that will be anywhere from $50 to $150, for newborns though I wouldn't get to expensive!
You will need diapers depending on what kind that will be anywhere from $15 to $25 a box.
Oh and diaper wipes which is around $10 to $20 a box.
You also got to think it's going to be more then one box!

A baby would result in negative income, unless you're talking about welfare checks.
Income = money coming in
spendings is not a word...you mean expenses.
During the pregnancy, you would spend a few hundred a month on medical expenses and preparing your home. The birth and hospital stay would cost a few thousand dollars. Excellent medical insurance through your employer would reduce these costs. After the birth, you would spend a couple hundred per month on food, clothing, doctors visits, immunizations and toys. The older they get, the more expensive they are. Begin saving for college early. By the time our children are ready, it will cost well over 60K for school.

There are many things to think about
health insurance-how much is it going to cost to add baby to the insurance policy and how much is the co-pay.
utilities will go up.
If you need childcare that at least $400 per month but probably more like $600
diapers are about $50 per month. If you don't breastfeed formula is about $80-$90 per month. they always need "something" from clothes to toys to medicine.....
Our biggest expense if health insurance. We pay $170 per wk for health insurance but that does include me (hubby is free) Then we have co-pays and prescriptions that never seem to be available in generic so that's $50 (depends on your ins plan) Kids never seem to get sick M-F 8-5. Urgent Care visit is $50...
.....it adds up fast!

lol....well I am from the Midwest and I have four children under the age of seven years. No matter where you live, a baby is expensive.....I spent about 45/wk on diapers....I breast fed all my children, but that saved me about 2,000, for it totals about that much in a year for formula. Not to exclude Dr's visits for check ups on the lil ones, and when they get sick. On top of which lil ones are constantly growing, so it is to the clothing stores on a constant basis...I can go on with list after list...but children will raise your spending significantly and it just isn't pertaining to infanthood either...you will be spending quite a bit on your children the whole time that they are growing up....but hey, it is worth it. So if you are wanting to have a wee lil one...by all means, go for it!!!!!

My 4th baby... NOTHING! Well, almost nothing...
He was exclusively breastfed until at least 6 month old
He wears cloth diapers, which I already owned from last baby
$120 total in Drs. appt. in 1 year
$50 total in extra laundry detergent in a year
He doesn't eat special "baby food" - but eats what I eat - so maybe $100 total for a year
