Firstly, there is no such thing as "talking black". You are most likely referring to what is commonly referred to as Black Vernacular English, which is a dialect/sub-language that originated during the slavery of Africans due to being stripped of their native tongue. I'll spare you the long history lesson. As far as learning to speak it is concerned- It's just like learning any other language. You can study it, but you would probably find that it would come much easier to you if you expose yourself to those who are fluent in the Black Vernacular.
Secondly, to those of you who are saying that speaking BVE makes you sound ignorant: You are perpetuating a very common stereotype. Would you refer to someone who speaks "Spanglish" as sounding ignorant? I doubt it.
And why are some of you offended by the asker's question? From where I'm sitting, her only mistake was referring to BVE as "talking black". Would you have been offended if she had asked how to go about learning any other language? Probably not. Grow up!

I recently had a talk with one of my friends about this she is half Asian half white. I said that my English is wrong. This country has convinced us that Ebonics is wrong and ignorant. It is not, it is different. America has this thing called 'proper', 'standard' English. The only reason people believe that there is a such thing is because they learn it in school, they have been taught this (brainwashed). Anytime you believe in something that you were taught without further research it is brainwashing. English came from a mixture of languages and when Africans were enslaved they picked up what they heard. Have you ever heard a new born baby try to attempt to speak without being taught. Some of the words come out 'wrong'. When Africans slowly learned more they used Ebonics as a form of communication that the slave owners could not understand. The only thing that makes us black is not our music, not the color of our skin, or the way we act and talk. The thing that makes you black is your heritage.

i'm not sure why you would want to 'talk black' and why it's so important to you at this moment, but any black person your trying to impress or wanting to hang around will respect you much more if you just 'be yourself'. as a matter of a fact, (lol), never 'talk black' again :-)
ps
"gurly gurl"'s comment was extremely offensive. i grew up in that "ghetto" / "poor area" you're probably referring to, and i don't speak the way your answer suggested.
like "just another" stated, to 'talk black' is actually a language of sorts.
on the other hand, the speech patterns that persons answering this question were offensively imitating could be better described as "pop slang" or even "rap slang"...but definitely not BVE/ebonics.

Well firstly there's no such thing as "talking black". You cannot talk or act the way a certain race does beause not everyone from that race talks the same way. That would be stereotyping. But about your question.. you can't really learn to speak Ebonics, because if you're trying to speak it then it will sound like you're trying too hard. I guess, the way a person speaks just comes naturally from what they hear a lot around them. Kind of like an accent.

You don't appear to be black. Don't do this. I would imagine "talking black" would be a natural extension of an authentic person who is probably black. We share alot of the same words though...most nouns, verbs, adjectives. Jeezus.

There is not way to talk "black". Black people don't all speak the same way. If you mean trying to talk ghetto slang,...why do want to? Some people think it's cool, but some others just think it makes you sound like you aren't intelligent.

Your question is very offensive. Every black person doesn't talk like that. I hope you're super young and just don't know the reality of the question you just asked. "They crazy?" "He trippin'?" GROW UP!

lol. I'll never understand that. How does one "act white" or "talk black". If you can explain that to me without sounding racist, I'd be shocked.
If you mean, "How do you act like the STEREOTYPICAL black person?" then I'd say that would be:
"Fo sho! He be actin weird. For reeal? "
I've never spoken like that before. And I'm black...

Develop your own vocabulary. Be who you are and stop trying to be someone you are not. I believe that is what wrong with the generation today. They have no sense of self.
