Make sure your doctor knows whats going. You can try extra fluids, apple juice, prune juice, drinking hot water, fiber, etc. Don't use laxatives as they can cause contractions. If you go more than 3 or 4 days, you need to report it immediately.

Constipation is a sign that you already are not eating properly!!!
The book titled Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Years by Susan S. Weed
Say that:
*You should replace white flour products such as bread, noodles, cookies, cakes, bagels, doughnuts, pizza, pancakes, and pretzels with WHOLE GRAIN products such as bran muffins, whole wheat bread, brown rice, tortillas, oatmeal & popcorn!!!
*Increase your liquid intake by eating soups, shakes that are homemade with honey, fresh fruit & yogurt. Also fruit and vegetable juices (fresh if possible) and herbal teas between meals.
*Eat less red meat, especially smoked and cured meat like bacon, ham, sausage and pastrami.
*Exercise. Walking, swimming and yoga are invaluable in preventing any number of discomforts of pregnancy including constipation.
Keep in mind if there is 1 or 2 things on that list of things you shouldn't eat don't worry about giving them up just try to make changes where you can...
The book Pregnancy, Childbirth & the Newborn by Simkin, Whalley and Keppler says:
*Drink plenty of fluids and eat high-fiber foods such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, bran and prune juice.
*Exercise...
Your Iron supplement could be causing some of the constipation, but it is important to keep taking pre-natal vitamins.
Swimming is also really good at helping to reduce swelling; the water puts pressure on your swollen tissue helping you to pee more frequently. And drinking adequate amounts of water and other fluids helps you retain less water!!!
AVOID LAXATIVES AND STOOL SOFTNERS!!
Hope this helps!!!

You need to talk to your doctor about this before taking anything. A lot of women have this problem and your doctor or clinic can tell you what is safe to take. One thing you can do now is to increase your fluid intake (water, juice, etc) as much as possible. You may also find some solutions/advice in pregnancy books or online at babycenter.com
Good luck and congratulations!
