Is Pokemon making a comeback?

BESIDES the games (Ex. Diamond and Pearl), is the overall Pokemon franchise making a comback? My brother and I got into an argument over this - I say it's only the new games and he says it's the whole thing.

Honestly, Pokemon never really died down. It's always been extremely popular, especially in Japan.

No Way. It died after red, blue, and yellow version. They can try but Pokemons dead.
