Your integrated graphics is just good for 2D and video. It is too slow in 3D (games). It will also slow down Vista because it will share system RAM. Just allocate 128Mb RAM for graphics so that you do not reduce system RAM too much. Actually most users find 2Gb as optimum for Vista.
Once you decide to expand usage to gaming, just install a separate graphics card.

That's an integrated video chipset into the northbridge of the motherboard. I would disable that and get a standalone video card for your system, you'll get way better performance believe me. 256 would be the best setting but remember, it's using system memory (shared), which is way slower than standard video memory onboard a video card. Look here for a great deal:

properly first the OS you're working are significant. in case you have Vista you may choose 4GB of ram to play maximum video games. additionally that 8200 is amazingly old. i could advise getting a 8800GTX or 9800GTX based on your specifications. additionally you may desire to think of appropriate to the processor too. My famous processor precise now's the middle 2 Duo E8400. Its greater value-effective then all Quad cores and that's almost as quickly because of the fact the mid-variety ones. additionally its super for O.C.

6100 is a onboard graphic card right? that means it can take up to 256 MB from your RAM and use it for graphics, how much memory you need depends on your usage. 3d gaming , video editing, graphic intense stuffs, etc, needs more memory than standart office/ internet usage. but 6100 delivers poor performance for 3d games, it may run on lower details and resolution. 128 - 256 should be fine.
