Pantera was incredible...you hit it on the nose. Sorry you didn't get to see 'em. Sepultura was also great. Metallica (love 'em or hate 'em) was great (qualifier: this was in 1992). Go see Mastodon if you get a chance. My fave of all time: the almighty Iron Maiden.

Ooh, I've seen the Black Dahlia Murder two times and they were awesome. Behemoth was also great! Oh, hard to choose. Maybe this will get settled once I see Dimmu Borgir next week. So I'm going into my future and say Dimmu Borgir.

Had to be Judas Priest's "Screaming for Vengeance" tour 1982, with opening band Coney Hatch, which was a great band too. lemme tell you about sitting at the top and back of the Long Beach arena, and hearing a snare drum hit from the stage that would hit you right in the chest!.........LOUD!!!!

Has to be Slayer.
They opened up with Reign in Blood. The stage was dark and you could hear the rain and thunder in the back ground.
Then a small light lit up Kerry King´s fingers as he launched into the insane opening riff and the crowd went nuts.

I wish I could have seen The Black Dahlia Murder! Damn it!
Anyways, I'd have to say Dio/Black Sabbath just last Saturday at Cobo... Megadeath opened! It ******* ruled!!!! Iron Maiden was really good live also, but it wasn't nearly as good as Dio!
I wish I could have seen Children of Bodom and Dragonforce also...

Anytime I've ever seen Maiden they've kicked fahkin ars. They've never held back, they've been full of energy, and don't waste time chatting on stage and involve the crowd with "what part of the crowd is the loudest" nonsense.

Number one spot has to go to Slayer...Reign in Blood is too awesome to ignore.
Second goes to System of a Down, just for being so insane!
