It can be all of the above. You also spelled it right but I usually write Inuyasha.

I always put "Inu Yasha" if I'm referring to the show and "Inuyasha" if I'm referring to the character. I have reasons for this. The Japanese generally don't use hyphens, so those ones are out. "Inu" means "dog," and "yasha" means "female demon," so the show is called "Female Dog Demon." And I figured the character is "Inuyasha," all together like a compound word.

no dont listen to these guys you spelled it right "inuyasha"
the InuYasha thing was a mistake VIZ made when they translated it
they also translated the name of his sword wrong, they spelled "tetsusaiga" but its actually spelled tessaiga
