Now i have 3 computers two labtops and 1 desktop, the desktop is connected directly to the wireless router and it works fine. One of the labtops connects wireless fine. But the second labtop doesn't pick up the signal or sometimes it does but it still won't let me connect to the internet. What do i do?

Well if the machines are located at the same place within the house and you have this problem then you have a bad wireless card. If you are further away from the Router when this happens it is probably just a weaker signal in which case more signal is needed.

I have one that everytime I turned on the lights in the kitchen the wireless dropped.. noisy balast in the flourescent light! Moved the router about three feet and now it works just fine.

The first thing is what band those the second laptop uses because those routers only works in b\g if the computer is A band you should go for a usb antenna, if that is not the problem then go to the icon of the wireless in the right side of your screen click on it and go to properties then go to tcp\ip in th scroll box and select select let windows select my IP and the same with the DNS, then go back and search for wireless conection and select let windows choose that should work.

Do you have security set up through your router? If so, you'd need to go into the settings and allow your laptop's wireless card to use the signal. If security isn't set up, the wireless card in the laptop may be faulty.
