Dear look_after_you,
I can help you with this:)
Ok...
First lets start with what you need.
-Eye primer (you don't need it, but it's great for keeping shadow in place)
-2 Shadows: One light, one darker
-Eyeliner
-makeup brushes
-Mascara
Steps.
1.To avoid your eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base/primer.
2.For a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
3.For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner & the key is to 'smudge it'. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.
4.Apply light base color Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.
5. Now that you have the base & eyeliner on, it's time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line & blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.
6.In the end apply mascara.

YOU NEED:
- 3 eyeshadow shades in a nude color that matches your skin, a gray, and a black.
-Blackest of the black mascara (Maybelline is the BEST)
-MK&Ash eyeliner twist up stick
-Eyeshadow sponge brush
1) Apply nude color to entire eyelid NICE and thick.
2)Apply gray over almost entire eyelid, leave out the middle of the lid, and blend nicely.
3)Apply black/dark color on the top of the eyelid (line) and the outer side. It should form some what of a C. blend Blend and blend some more, you dont want sharp lines of eyeshadow.
4)Apply eyeliner on bottom thinly. Smudge and softon with eyeshadow brush.
5)Apply dark eyeshadow as an eyeliner for top line and a second liner for the bottom (just apply over eyeliner) and smudge and smear both also.
6) Apply a lot of mascara to top lashes and keep it light on the bottom.
You have a beautiful smokey eye now, hope this helps you achieve your smokey eye look. If you need more help, you can email me.

ok, it particularly is what I do. and that i've got dark blue eyes. I start up off with an oil loose moisturizer on my eyelid to make it stay longer (Neutrogena Oil loose SPF 15 Moisture is what i take advantage of as a results of fact it particularly is barely $13 for like a three month furnish). Then I positioned black eyeliner on my backside lid and smudge it basically a splash with a q tip. Then I positioned the black eyeliner on my suited lid and smudge that to positioned on apparently particularly mixed. Then below my brow, i take advantage of a white smimmery eyeshadow and that i take advantage of it below my foreheadwith a splash fluffy brush and on the interior corner of my eye. The in my crease i take advantage of an somewhat incredibly gold eyeshadow and that i mixture that for the duration of. Then throughout your lid use a mocha brown eyeshadow and mixture that for the duration of the the gold so apparently love it particularly is fading right into a darker shade from the white. Then use 2 to 3 coats of black mascara on you suited lashes. I reccomend Maybelline Lash Stiletto for approximately $8 and the eyeshadow could be any style yet moist 'n Wild has some particularly solid palletes for no longer that lots. solid success including your smokey eyes!

There is a Maybelline eyeliner that I love, it comes in different colors but I like black, and it has a sharpener to make a smooth line, and then a little smudgey thing on the end to make it look smokey. It is a really good tool!
All you really need for that look is one of those eyeshadow brushes though, the white spongey ones.

Rimmell makes the great quad eyeshadow kit. I have brown eyes and I use the Smokey Blue kit. I then apply black eyeliner, smudge, and 2 coats of mascara.

I use black mascara, black eyeliner only on the upper eyelid: Then I smudge it with a tiny brush. I don't do more because my eyes are very big and I don't wanna look like those little animals in the desert with their skinny neck and ultra-alert look.

You can use any eyeshadows you want. It just depends on what your used to, powder, cream, or whatever. Depending on your look and what you want this may need adjusting, but here are some good videos by Tricia Sawyer.
http://www.triciasawyer.tv/index.php/site/drilldown/C3/
First one is "Tara Smoke and Mirrors"
Second one is from http://www.triciasawyer.tv/index.php/site/drilldown/C3/P9/ and is called "Tara Smoky Eyes"
That site has other great videos you can check out. Good luck :)
