We are given the information that a ball is thrown from the bottom of a well, the x-axis acts as ground level, and we are told that the ball is at ground level after 0.7 seconds and 2.8 seconds. X is time in seconds, Y is height in meters. Thus the only points we have are (0.7,0) and (2.8, 0). We've figured out that the graph will look like an upside down parabola but have no idea how to solve it! It says complete the equation:
y=(-4.9)( ? )( ? )
It's supposed to go with the graph?

Hint: The x coordinate of the vertex is halfway between
the zeros or at x = 1.75.
So the equation looks like y = -4.9(x-1.75)² + c.
I'll let you take it from here. Plug in either of
your other 2 points to find c.
