Not if anybody every wants to take the land away from them. In that case, it is one of the least safe places in the world since they have almost no army, navy or air force. I would not want to be there when global warming makes it a nice place to live (and the reason I say that is because I have been to Florida in February, ever see all the Canadians down there in February, global warming will make Canada a nice place to live some day). I figure that the Venezuelan military can easily take out Canada's,despite having to go around us (and don't count on Britain to help them, their Navy is down to a few small boats).

Not bad; out of 32 million people they have a murder rate of about 600 per year. Cities are comparitely safe to walk around in by world standards. As mentioned a few Scandinavian countries along with Australia and New Zeland may be a little higher on the list in that regard.

A few points on other comments:

1) Canada and Russia are the only two countries which will benefit from global warming with a longer and perhaps a second growing season in the future.

2) Canada was part of the orginal Manhattan project has abundant uranium, exports her nuclear reactors and is very capable of building nuclear weapons.

3) She can mobilize very quick if necessary. In WW II she went from an army of a few thousand and four ships to an army of 1.5 million and the fourth largest navy in the world all in four years. Allied air training was done there and she was called the aerodrome of democracy; not too shabby for 12 million back then.

4) LOL, Th Venezeulan army, Latin American Guerillas, and private narco armies wouldn't survive there. They are not equiped to fight in arctic condtions and one can see people from the tropical South American countries are not kicking the doors off the hinges to get there; check out the immigration stats for that country.

Why would I think Canada is the safest place in the world?

canada was a very wonderfull safe place.
current imigration has made canada be about 10 years behind the usa in its crime rate. canada will never learn .
all the countries that let muslims and many other people in that have no desire to become members of the community are just setting themselfs up for gangs crime and in the end race wars.
now sweden is smart a wonderfull place with many great laws about imigration and it should be the model for all countries that place is the safest place on earth.

Technically, Denmark and Austria are the safest countries in the world so Canada isn't. Canada I assume is very safe, but many escaped convicts from NY and other places go to Canada. Many jails are also in Canada so it might be dangerous if you don't know where to live.

No. You can freeze to death, or drown in all the water. Or get attacked by a moose or bear. About any place is dangerous, but for the most part most places are basically safe and people tend to worry too much about nothing at all.

Two facts...

1. Canada has about as many guns per family as the U.S. does
2. Canada has more sex related crimes than the U.S.
