First you can't control the others.
The world will not stop if you ask it and it can't force it.
So accept that with that "label" you choose the REDEFINE that word to what suits your best.
Make Weird=Wonderful This literally works....try it.
I have given this advise to many people, and they will change the definition of a word to make it suit their personality and with that, every time some one uses it, it actually reinforces your positive feelings about you!
TRY IT- IT WORKS!

"I need to ask people to stop calling me weird". Ok, let's start with that mush. You are a mighty woman. Sound like it.
"I need . . ." Too needy. Too self-disclosing of an erroneous passive paradigm. Don't let people think you "need" anything. Woman meet their own needs. At least, try to project that kind of confidence.
" . . .to ask . . ." Excuse me? Why do you have to ask anybody anything in this situation? You feel as though you have been wronged. When women are "wronged", they no longer play nice and "ask". They explain, inform, direct, guide, suggest, demand, set straight and otherwise take control of the situation.
" . . .to stop calling me weird." Words can't hurt a woman. A little girl, maybe. And, a wimpy little girl at that. You have to have a thick skin to get through life fairly intact with your sense of humor in one piece. Learn to just laugh at the lower lifeforms.
Remember, no one can pull your chain if you don't dangle it out there for people to yank. Keep your feelings closer around you, with just family and beloved, true friends. Don't spread yourself too thin. Be a bit more of a mystery and people will have less to torment you with.
P.S. Looking at one's nails is perfectly normal, by the way. People are just having fun with you. Smile and consider their attention as a form of flattery. For real.

The first time they called you weired, they were " fishing " for a response, which you obviously gave them. Now it is locked in. Stop responding and hanging out with people who " push your buttons " for fun. Get real friends.

Ask them individually to stop telling you that. Tell them how you feel when they tell you those things. Tell them you will apreciate some respect. Let them know the absurdity of it all. It is not easy to tell a group to stop but if you try everyone individually, you may see the results.

That anyone finds it acceptable to call you "weird" is more to the point. Anyone who treats me without dignity and respect gets very little of my time and energy.
You may want to reconsider the extent to which you involve yourself with such people.
