Make your apologies, admit your part in whatever misunderstanding there may have been, make no accusations, point no fingers, assign no blame to other parties. Don't grovel, just hope that the relationship was strong enough to begin with that it can regenerate. If not, at least you can be at peace with yourself, knowing that you did what you could. Maybe, with time to mull over what you presented, the other party will respond to your overtures of friendship, so keep the door open.

Look at and admit your part in the altercation. Then apoligize for it ignoring what the other party did to you. Make this apology , not for forgiveness, but to clean up your side of the street. Your reward is you will loose your ill feelings almost immediately. If the other person involved chooses to forgive you then you both win. Or they can choose to carry on with their ill feeling and stay unhappy.

Be prepared for mistrust and disbelief. Rebuilding any kind of relationship is much more difficult than starting a new one. People can be unforgiving and suspicious once they've been burned.

One must first build a dam. Then the new foundation can be made. I don't know what I just said, but I'm gonna write it down and use it again later. It sounded good.
