It's a toss up between J. Kidd and Steve Nash. Most people will say Nash because after all he won 2 Mvps and many feel should have won his 3rd in a row.

That being said- a big part of Nash's success has to do with the system that they run in Phoenix. So i think from that perspective J. Kidd could be a better point guard- i think it would depend on who was surrounding them and what kind of system they ran. J. Kidd also plays much better defense than Nash.

If you're asking who is the best guard in the NBA... i'd have to say Kobe. If you switched Kobe and Nash from their respective teams- the Suns would arguably win more games (because you'd have Barbosa at the point) and Kobe, Marion, Stoudemire, etc. The Lakers would not have won as many games with Nash because you still have the problem of consistent 2nd and 3rd scorers.

I'd say Steve Nash and Jason Kidd are a toss up for best point guard today. Chauncey Billups and Tony Parker are close behind. Deron Williams and Chris Paul are probably the future point guards of the next era.

#1) Steve Nash. #2) Jason Kidd. The Lakers have no use for a point guard, Kobe wouldn't let him touch the ball. Where is Magic Johnson when you need him?

Well, Kobe is a shooting guard, not a point guard, and Lebron is a small forward, so they are not relevant.
I don't know if I can pick the best point guard, but the top three right now are Nash, Kidd, and Williams.

Chris Paul for specific Chauncey Billups (he's circled the protection in Denver and the management he's dropped at that team is spectacular) Jameer Nelson is a super reason the Magic are enjoying stable he feeds massive D so properly. Jose Calderon being sidelined led to considerable injury to Toronto's offesnse and protection and that i think of they're thanking god he's back in finished stress. Deron Williams is my different considerable guy after his injury he's finally finding his stroke besides as connecting along with his teammates and the only way he will pass is up.

1. Steve Nash
2. Jason Kidd
3. Deron Williams

Nash makes his teammates better. Just look at the career highs in PPG his teammates are averaging.
J-Kidd is a triple double monster.
Deron is barely in his second year. This guy is gonna be a beast.

steve nash no doubt. hes a true team player, and thats what every point guard should be. he has alot of assists per game and a good amount of points for game for a PG. shows that hell do whatever it takes to put points on the board. hed rather pass, but when he does shoot, hes deadly.
