I LOVE animals....and sometimes I see sick and injured animals that are being held captive or chained. I finally decided that if I had the opportunity, I would easily steal one of these animals and take them to the vet or a responsible shelter. I believe that I am an honest person with values. Stealing is stealing....but in a situation like this....what would you do?

I would definitely involved the authorities if I lived in the US. However, I live in Mexico.....and here there aren't any government agencies that will intervene. There are local, non-profit organizations that will respond if you already have the animal in your possession. Stealing seems to be my only option.

Hi, I agree with you - stealing is stealing, but when it comes to animals/pets & their safety- that is another thing. If the animals are being held captive and not treated good by their owner, then I really don't think the owner would care that they are gone and maybe not even notice! Another solution: We have a local TV station you can call and they will get everyone (humane society, vet, authorities, etc) involved & rescue the pets. Could you possibly do that? or call a local animal rescue?? Good luck & go with your heart.

No. Abusing or neglecting and animal is a crime. But do not react to that situation by making another mistake. If there are no authorities you can rely on, speak to the owner and ask if you can simply take the animals off his hands.

A friend of mine saw a Triton cockatoo which was badly plucked and even had a broken leg (which had healed in the wrong place). She was kept by an old woman because her son just left it there when he went overseas. She had no idea what to do with it and she was afraid of it in fact. But she was told the bird was worth a lot of money so she was afraid to give it away in case her son got angry with her.

So in the end, they collected money and bought the bird from her. Sometimes, these owners don't even know what they are doing wrong. You could also help the owner take care of the animals. Start by asking to come in and see the animal because you want to see it up close.

Learn more about the owner and maybe offer some tips in the end. There are many ways to solve problems. We usually have more choices that we think.

Good luck.

that is particularly probably. There are oftentimes circumstances of animal activists stealing or liberating animals and customarily interfering the place they shouldn't, as a consequence the released animals can many times do extra harm to different organic international and environments. PETA are nicely commonly used for destroying extra animals than they save. some ethical therapy.... you will locate countless articles approximately that online. for lots of the extreme PETA activists, their concern for an animal's welfare is oftentimes questionable and extremely, they only desire something to protest approximately.

you should call whatever animal protection agencies is in your area that way those responsible for the abuse will be punished helping to stop the problem. i mean what will stop them from going, oh that dogs gone, I'll just get another? on the matter of saving animals everyone has a different opinion on what needs saving. so extreme person may think its appropriate to steal animals from pet stores because they think they look sad in there.

I HAVE stolen animals before. I stole 2 cats from my neighbors who were neglecting them. So yes, in some situations, stealing might be the lesser of two evils.

However, be prepared to face the consequences if you are caught.

Good luck.

In your situation I would steal it only if I have a good home far away for it to go to. Perhaps leave a note for him saying due to his mistreatment of these animals, they have been removed, as will any future animals he chooses to treat like this.

If I saw an animal being abused or neglected and had the opportunity to safely get away I would do just that.

if it's in the best intrest of the animal then yes i would. one of my friends knew a guy that was abusing his dog, wouldn't get it vet care, left it outside to wander and let it fend for itself so the one day it came over to us we took my dog off his leash and hooked it to the other dog and rushed it to the vet. they phoned the authorities in charge of animal welfare and took the dog away.

Cruelty cases should be reported. And then if nothings done, and i felt it right, I'd take matters into my own hands. Luckily I've never seen an extream cruelty case before.
