in case you're renting , the owner gave them a key just to ward off expected costs. Appointments or a knock on the door are required. for terribly own residences. in all hazard an association w/ the meter reader & no longer unavoidably authorized by technique of the gasoline business corporation apart from examining meters in consumer-friendly mechanical areas....supply them a decision See if the owner will admire your privateness & make different preparations. terrific regards

I would tell them to make arrangements when someone is home or could be home. I don't leave my home open just for anyone to wonder around in. You don't know these people. They could be in your personnel business on your computer etc. No way would they be in my house. That is why I have security alarms and sensors and dogs etc. They could have someone call and set up apt. when you were on say your lunch break, day off, take a couple hrs.off early or something. That sounds funny to me.

First I would ask what kind of idiot would put a gas meter inside a building, then I would tell them that my dog has a bad habit of biting strangers on the crotch.

You're so craziiiieeee...
Sad thing is,
I know you're being serious for once.
The gas company must be crazier than you are.
I don't even want to know what you told them, I'm sure you'd be deleted.
And I'm sure they deserved what you told them.
