The sweep will happen but I don't think the firing will.

The club is a mess, but a change may not be made until the All-Star break. The club is going to have a problem getting someone to pick up the pieces, so I think Girardi will sit it out and wait for a better opportunity in the next year or two. Chris Chambliss has deserved a shot at being a ML manager for too many years; this would be - if it opens up - to have zero pressure and begin the process to re-build for 2008 and 2009.

Wait, will they fire him this weekend, or fire him? Confusing question. Lets just say that the Reds really were not in contention this year anyway. The Brewers, Cards are better. They could still finish .500 which would be good for that team. You can't be amazing with Adam Dunn, and Adam Dunn, and Adam Dunn as your best players. So with not much of a chance for sucess, i dunno what you were expecting. Perhaps Girardi could turn the teams fate. Homer Bailey will help. Who knows?
