Why do racists say that anyone non-caucasian is foreign when Native Americans were here first?

Racists always need to find something in order to "justify" their bigoted views. Stating that any person of color is foreign is proving that most racists are in a state of denial...they didn't come from America either and were immigrants just like the rest of us. Even Native-Americans were immigrants back in the day but they made their home here first.

P.S. Umm...Charlis C: The Black Irish were not the first people in America. There is no evidence substantiating that claim. Although I hate Wikipedia, I did visit the page that you asked us to refer to and it said that the TERM 'Black Irish' may have "ORIGINATED" in America...but, in no way, did it state that the Black Irish were the first group of humans to set foot on American soil. Furthermore, on the same website (Wikipedia), it claimed that Native-Americans were the "INDIGENOUS" people of America. Seems a little contradictive, don't you think? They don't call them NATIVE-Americans for nothing. Do some research first darling.

After reading all of the responses, I felt compelled to say something. It behooves me that so much time is spent on racism, where we came from, our native country, etc.., so on and so forth, but we are ALL people and believe it or not probably related to the blackist of the black and the whiteist of the white. Having a white grandfather, Indian grandmother, black father tied up with some French. WHO CARES!! IF the Truth be known, we are a one cultured nation categorized by the government for statistical purposes. I could never be racist. People that are, in my opinion, are insecure of their heritage.

You are correct that We (The Native Americans) were in North America first. But ignorant people will try to come up with misconstrued fact to make it seem as though we are actually Asian or of some other origin. It really doesn't matter when it comes down to it because in all reality We don't inherit the land from our parents, we borrow it from our children.
So let those who live in ignorance continue with their stupidity, eventually they will choke on their own words.

It's like saying Columbus discovered America.Which,for several reasons,he did not.How can you discover that which is already there.You may 'FIND" it,but you discover penicillin.You discover where King Tuts' Tomb is? its not really just racists that say it.

Whites arnt really given the title of being here first. Whites are whites. Blacks are blacks. asians are asians. And Indians (the whoo whoo indians, not the 7 11 kind) are now refered to as natives.

the word native would imply they were the native inhabitants of this country, and since thts what they're called, thats what they are. I mean, when someone says "Oh, he's a native american" do you think that means he's white? Or do you picture a native american, like the cherokee kind and such?

The way I see it, you are native to whatever place you were born and raised. I don't put much weight in the idea that someone is foreign because their ancestors did not come from that place.

I wonder the same damn thing. I hate it when white ppl act as if they orginated from the US. when they know good && damn well thier ancestors came from damn Europe. America is not thier native home. IT pisses me off to be called an AFRICAN american as well. My folks been livin here just as long as thier ppl have but yet I gotta be called a African american like I moved to the states from Africa or somthing.
