Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. He is a phenomenal guitarist, and The Heartbreakers could not have existed in the incarnation the do without his creative and musical contributions. Even on Tom's solo albums, he always brings Mike in to play in his backing band. Tom was incredible, but he didn't do it all.

Totally agree with Dave Davies. Everyone raves how awsome Van Halen's You Really Got Me is, but Dave Daviesmade that song what it is. And Davies practically invented the hard rock riff, and no one ever gives him credit.
No one agrees with me on this, but I find Izzy from GNR amazing. He's rhythm guitars allowed Slash to do whatever he wanted and that was an important part of GNR's music, cept no one ever seems to care about Izzy.

malcolm young of AC/DC is an incredibly solid rhythm guitarists who helped define their classic sound, and yet he's always overshadowed by his brother Angus on lead guitar.

Also, Stewart Copeland of the Police is a really creative drummer, but Sting took a lot of the fame.

Robbie Krieger for one..even wrote "Light My Fire"..with great guitar solo thrown in;all of Zappa's sidemen;Keith Reed who wrote most of the lyrics for Procul Harum;Duane Allman on the "Layla" album...especially the title song..his riff ..pinched from Albert King,I seem to recall..;Bill Wyman..the bass on "Midnight Rambler"..studio and live versions..steady as a rock with Charlie;...Would have loved to have seen the look on a drunken Jagger's face when Charlie slapped him one when Jagger said ..."..where's me bleeding drummer?"....Many other ignored souls...o yess.
