My x husband racked up 60,000 worth of credit card debt. In the divorce he was left with the responsibility of paying on that debt but he has been paying on all of it late and my name is on all of it. How do I start new and get my credit score up. I can't get a credit card and my credit score effects everything even my insurance rates.

If your husband was ordered to pay off the debt then YOU need to be taken OFF of the cards. You will have to have your lawyer do this for you.

First of all contact the credit card companies and let them know that you are divorced. Start making the payments and on time! Also contact your divorce attorney to find out what your rights are and the next steps you need to take.

Goooood Luck on that one! When you are married all debts belong to both husband and wife. I went through the same thing, hearing them threaten me every way they could think of.
I ended up taking them to court for harassment. I paid what I could, when I could.
