an alert comes up saying mcafee virusscan is not working, is that part of norton's or is that something seperate. it was working fine then mcafee stopped working.....i ended up downloading AVG for free but my computer seems to be going alot slower now..nortons is fine with a green checkmark but i tried getting rid of AVG and the same alert comes up.....any answers appreciated.

You can have two or three antispyware programs without conflict if you have the resources to support.

Plus you are left with over 375 fragments when you try to remove Nortons. The fragments are glued to all of your files, registry and hidden all over your system. A real nightmare trying to find and remove these fragments. (Nortons hates for you to remove their software).
If possible remove all three of the antivirus programs that you have as really none of them are any good.

http://www.eusing.com Program out of Beijing, China. Look about five programs down on the webpage and you will see their free registry cleaner. Also backup for restore.
Never had to use the backup or restore with either program as they don't make any mistakes with your registry.

Try running your computer on safe mode and see how it reacts. If it reacts the same, you might have a virus which is causing the slowness. You might want delete one of the softwares, because if you are running 2 different antivirus softwares they are conflicting with each other..ie Norton is wanting to use the ddl file which Avg wants to use.. It seems you have three antivirus programs on your computer. It is not good. You should use any one antivirus program at a time.
If you are not using Norton and Mcafee then use removal tools to uninstall them, that should make your computer run better
