It depends on the car, but usually many hours. Knock yourself out.

Are you serious here???
Your question, albeit centering on the mechanisms of death by carbon monoxide inhaling, are far too detailed and specific, that really arise suspicion that you really want to harm yourself....
Ho long?....it takes (if concentrated in a hose coming from the exhaust of a car) 30 minutes in average....
Coma will ensue in a matter of 7-10 minutes...no pain. just dizziness, weakness and faintness,,,,,
Notice before you die?....not, unless somebody interferes with the suicide project......
That is why many people prefer that type of suicide...painless...however, if the subject survives, permanent and grave sequelae are left (thalamic bilateral infartcion, induced parkinsonism, dementia etc
You can figure it out

Well, curious, don't try it. There are actually 2 different type effects. If you are in a sub-lethal concentration that is increasing to a lethal conc., you will experience a splitting headache followed by difficulty in breathing, and then unconciousness and death. If you enter the lethal conc. directly, you just pass out and die. This is a similar effect to sewer deaths where workers blunder into a high H2S concentration. Ordinarily, this would smell, and the worker could respond. However, in this situation, the worker just blacks out, and that's it.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning doesn't take very long. First comes loss of consciousness, and after that comes death. Carbon monoxide replaces oxygen in the body and keeps a body from using oxygen as well. I understand that it's painless due to unconsciousness and probably takes less than 20 minutes for death to occur.

It does not take that long, apparently you just fall asleep. You stay very pink looking. As opposed to the people who find you, who may never recover from the experience.
