Yes, I know who the mayor is. I think it is normal that people don't know who the vice president or even the president is. That is what happens when society turns into a society where the individual is the most important.

I do know the name of the mayor of my city, but many people I have come across seem pretty stupid when it comes to trivial facts. It is a shame that Americans are so uneducated and lack the love of learning. I love taking educational coursed just for the fun of it but it is hard to find people to enjoy it equally with me. I hope that you enjoy being educated. Yes, to answer your question, it is normal. How unfortunate for our people.
