Hellooo.. today i flew to california from new jersey and when we were flying over what i think was colorado there was a huge "R" in one of the mountains... like all the trees were cut down and it was perfect. Was that standing for the Rocky Mountains? It was so odd... if anyone knows anything about that.. i'm really interested.

It's not uncommon for schools in the mountains to put their school letters on a mountainside. It's usually not "carved", but more likely to be created from stone or other materials. My son goes to the Colorado School of Mines, and they have a gigantic "M" made from white-washed stones on one hillside; likewise, Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado has a "W" on a hillside.

I can't think of who might have an "R", but perhaps if you look into what schools are in the Rockies, you might be able to find out what school it was.
