log 45=log 5 +2 log 3
log 45=3.6+2*1.4
log 45=6.4

Using the rule of log that
log a + log b = log a*b
you can see that
log 45 =
log 3*3*5 =
log 3 + log 3 + log 5 =
1.4 + 1.4 + 3.6 =
6.4

= log 5 + (2 log 3)
= 3.6 + (2 * 1.4)
= 3.6 + 2.8

A better problem would be to find the base. Anyway, since 3x3x5=45, we add the corresponding logs: 2x1.4+ 3.6 = 6.4
