Your teacher might emphasis one part or another. You should have been in class enough to know what the teacher thinks is important.

Why people live where they live: food source, water source, and trade.

Why people move: lack of basic needs, war, or disaster are most common (work or better job factors fall under trade).

Urban planning-spread, decay and renewal.

City webs: Megalopolis is surrounded by major cities. Major cities are surrounded by smaller cities; which are surrounded by towns, etc. The trade routes between the cities and towns form a spiderweb-like design. The trade between the cities depends on supply and demand for products in each town. Those communities between major cities will go in either direction, depending on cost of transportation and the goods/demand situation.
