Always wondered this. Halloween songs always mention "ghosts and goblins". Are these little green orc-like guys or something else?

The earliest writings on the Goblin were in the 16th century. At that time it was a mischievous spirit in the town and area of Gobelin. Through the centuries the family (?) has spread out via tales and legends throughout the world. From what I can glean, physically the goblins are similar to a Hobbit gone bad and ugly.

Actually goblins are very nice creatures (ergo my Avatar).

In all honestly though, to tell you the absolute truth - I have no idea exactly what a goblin is and what it looks like.

The closest thing to a goblin that I've ever seen is my jet black kitten, born on October 13th, and is named Goblin.

By the way - here is what Wikipedia says about goblins:

A goblin is an evil or merely mischievous creature of folklore, often described in as a grotesquely disfigured or gnome-like phantom, that may range in height from that of a dwarf to that of a human. They are attributed with various (sometimes conflicting) abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on the story and country of origin.

Have a lovely rest of the evening.
