2000 Chev S10 Blazer, 4.3 engine, auto overdrive trans. Losing coolant. Leaking at the engine/bell housing connection on the driver side, somewhere from above. Is there possibly a coolant sensor on the top rear of the engine? Kinda like the old Chevy V-8 oil sensor that was mistaken for a rear main leak.

Couple of other things: I checked the water pump also.
I don't think this has a heater control valve in the heating system. If it does where might it be?

It is very common for the Intake manifold to go out on these engines, I have seen the intake manifold leak on probably more then half of the 4.3L GM's we get into the shop. Most of the GM V6 engines have problems with the intake manifold leaking. A leaking intake manifold can be seen from anywhere around the intake manifold. The intake manifold is at the top of the engine between the valve covers / heads. This is a very common problem for these engines.
