RAM IS NOT SLI. SLI is Nvidia's way to use two video cards to run as one giving incredibly good video. RAMM is memory. There are many types, but what you need to know about are SDRAMM in the system (more is better) and DDR2 or DDR3 video ramm. DDR2 is standard, 128, 256 and 512 are standard (256 best bang for the buck) . Make sure your vide card ramm is NOT turbocache (shared with system ramm)

SLI is for intense graphics such as movie editing or high end gaming graphics.
