he dropped it..felt something move in his lower back..didn't think about it at that time..there was no pain...after sleeping during the night..he has had severe lower back pain when he moves, (ie: rolling in and out of bed) sometimes when he sits up he'll feels and hears a crack...he's had pain on the right side of his lower belly and on the right side of his groin area. (ie: testicle) it also hurts for him to cough or sneeze when he's laying down.

His pain has been coming and going for 3 days now...today was when he noticed the pain in his groin..

we thought it was a pulled or torn muscle...but are wondering if it's more severe...should he go to the doctor..or should we let it go for a couple more days in case it IS a pulled muscle..

any suggestions?

you should not let this go any further. Have your husband see a medical doctor as soon as possible. This is nothing to play around with.

If he has pain in all of those areas, then he may have a slipped disk in his lower back. He needs to have an x-ray, MRI, and bone scan. These procedures will show his problem. It may just be a strain, but it sounds worse. Until he can get to a doctor he needs to have ice & heat on his back. Gentle massageing of the main problem area will help the pain also. He needs to go to the doctor though.

To Me it sounds like a Hernia to me.My Father in law has had this and the symptoms are the same he needs to go see a Dr Asap. and get this looked at.He could also have a herniated disk in his back,My Husband had 2 of those.

Why are you posting here instead of taking him to a doctor? It could be a muscle, even worse, it could be a ruptured disk in his back that is pressing on his nerve. If untreated it may end up crushing his nerves.

In addition is could have a hernia.

If you have not been to the doctor, do it...NOW.
