I seem to have a virus in my computer. I would like to re-format it by re-installing MSWindows. How do I go about this?

Why not try to clean it first, reinstalling sounds simple, but to a newbie, may not be that easy as :
You need the Windows XP CD
Set BIOS to boot CD first
Set up Windows
Install all hardware drivers

This is not necessary. Get the free AVG virus scan software. It will remove the virus. IN addition get the Spybot spyware removal. I guarantee it will cure your system. When done use disk cleanup program and the disk defragmenter and you'll be a s good as new.

You will need the Windows installation disc to reinstall. If you have it, put it into your CD Drive, restart your computer, and I think there is an upgrade option that will reinstall windows, but keep all your folders and files.

it out and put new windows in. Just kidding!
You must have the proper disc for that pc
