True, moon has to make up distance and arc length of Earths rotation around Sun. Which is about 1/12 of the distance of revolution for each month. This length takes about 2 days for the moon to make up.

True if you use the sidereal period of the Moon. The time for the Moon to make one orbit as measured against the fixed background of stars is called its sidereal period and it is different than if you measure it against the position of the Sun, because the Sun appears to drift against the background of stars, because the Earth is orbiting the Sun.
