There is no single best food for them. That's like asking what is the best food for a human. Just like people, all fish benefit from a variety of foods in their diet. use any well known name brand flake of betta pellet and add in bloodworms, mosquito larvae, brine shrimp and the like every other day or so. That's the best way to feed your betta.

Most flake food is for omnivores not carnivores like betta. A betta flake should be mostly made of worms, shrimp or fish. Also it should float. You'd be better off with a betta pellet than a flake. Also freeze dried blood worms are good, but should be alternated with another food.

This just happens to be something I know about..whodathunkit! I feed all my fish the same things and for flake food I always buy the same two.......Nutrafin max and Wardley Total SpectraMax they both bring the color out fast and seem to make the fish happy and healthy.

try betta pellets...it's like a flake food: cheap and comes in a bottle; but special for bettas because it improves color

I would not use flakes. Beta fish prefer floating fish food.when the flakes have sat in the water for a while they sink thus you must clean the gravle/tank more often. i would use hikari beta gold.I buy mine at petsmart. good luck with your betta. they are beautiful fish.
