Circa 1876

It was Saturday night in Dodge City. Matt hated leaving the cozy comfort of Sunshine's home, but he was U.S. Marshal, after all......so off to town he rode. As he tethered his horse at the hitching post in front of his office, the loud, bawdy sounds from the LongBranch saloon filled the air. He hated having to see Kitty, again. Seems like she was getting more and more crazy, ever since he broke off their relationship so he could persue Sunshine MacGillicutty. As he thought about the two women he smiled and shook his head in disbelief. In Matt's mind, two women couldn't be less alike. What he was unaware of was......there was ONE common thread they shared......they each loved Matt.

As Matt pushed his way through the swinging doors of the bar, there was action all around. Cowhands were playing cards, the piano player was banging away at the current hit song of the day, while Miss Kitty herself sang out the lyrics.. ...... (1.)♫ "Don't we all have the right to spend one passionate night, in the arms of old Buffalo Bill? (4.) I don't care what they say. I just need one more day then I'll die on Dodge City's Boot Hill." ♫ (I rock!!) Matt listened as the rowdy crowd broke into applause. He had to admit......the old redhead sounded pretty good. Drunk as hell, but pretty darn good.

As he started to walk away, Kitty saw him. She yelled out......
"Don't leave Nat, Ooops! I mean Matt.....a (3.) Crime of passion is about to take place." Matt turned to look her way. "That's right, Marshie Dillwon....I'm about to kill another bottle of Randy Scouse Git Rotgut!!" The crowd roared with laughter. Matt made a disgusted face and walked out.
Kitty loved being the center of attention. She wiped the drool from her face and started singing another song....
♫" (6.) Somebody lied. Somebody cried. Somebody just walked away. I gave him my best. He wore the same vest. Day after day after day...."♫

As Matt continued on his rounds, he thought about Kitty; About how she was drinking away her life. He wanted to believe that he had nothing to do with it.........that(2.) Life turned her that way. Matt knew the truth. He had broken her heart and it grieved him to think about this. Around 2 A.M. things in Dodge had settled down. The last drunk had gone home and doors were being locked. Matt mounted his horse and left for Sunshine's farm.

As he entered the little cottage, he was as quiet as he could be. He didn't want to wake Sunshine. Truth be told, he HOPED she was awake. As he crept into their bedroom, the moon cast a dim light across her sweet face. She was smiling at him.
Matt:" I'm sorry I woke you, darlin'."
Sunshine:" I'm not." He smiled and sat next to her on the bed.
He brushed the hair from her face.
Matt:" I'm (7.) Crazy over you, Sunshine MacGillicutty." He leaned down and kissed her. Passion welled up in him. He practically ripped his shirt in his effort to get it unbuttoned. Just as he pulled the covers back....." Oh, Sunny!.......As Festus would say....'I'm gonna get on you like ugly on an ape!!' " She laughed so hard she started choking.
Sunshine:" Well (5.) Baby, I'm ready."
And they tell me that as far away as the outhouse behind the church , you could hear ...."Yippee KY AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
