Your computer doesn't have to be on but your router and modem has to be on. :)

No, only your wireless router should be running.
You should be able to connect your wii to the router wirelessly.

actually i just found this out but you have to go buy a special cord to hook the wii up to the Internet otherwise it won't work

No it doesn't my internet works even if my parents' computer is off.
