boredom can lead to vice, leading you into your next paragraph. need can be created by vice. if you're bored, you seek something to do, say, online gambling. online gambling can become a costly habit and have need for more money to satisfy the vice. not to mention the problems that can come from the vice (financial probs, family/relationship probs, etc.)

Boredom, vice and need, the three evils of an idle mind and body!
Voltaire was a man of infinite wisdom to write this adage for he knew that when man does not work he is but a shell.
Without work, you are definitely bored, too much time on your hands.
An idle mind is the devil's workshop, which brings us to vice.
Last but not least, without work, there is the need to support ones self, which also brings us back to vice, because if your not doing something legal such as work, your making your money some other way which probably isn't legal.
Voltaire's statement shows that he was wise beyond his years!

For the closing paragraph you could say "Voltaire's considered that there are three things in life which are evil: boredom, vice, and need. As detailed above those three evil facets of living detailed above are avoided in the life of a working person as a result of their spending time at work, just as Voltaire had stated."
