Do you know where the names ”The Thin Red Lion” and ”The Rose and Cavalier” might come from?

It's 'The Thin Red Line' and, in it's original form of 'Thin Red Streak', was used used to describe the formation of British troops in the Crimean War (Possibly the Battle of Balaklava, but don't quote me), by Alfred Russell in his despatches to The Times, in London.

Not sure about The 'Rose...'
