Our government seems to avoid living up to the constitution everyday. We can amend it but usually they just ignore it. Bush hates that darn constitution thing it's so limiting to a man of his caliber....or was that Cheney's caliber and Bush's great intellect. ...yea right

If something important needs to be fixed in the Constitution, Amendments are usually made. The government thoroughly thinks through the outcome of making the Amendment and decides whether or not it is better for the country as a whole. If the Amendment ends up being a bad choice, it will most likely be repealed anyways.

An amendment is something added to guarentee a right.
The constitution and the bill of rights were put in place and worded in ways that they need not be changed or, deleted. The second amendment is an excellent example of people trying to dump a right because they don't personally agree with it. The 2nd amendment is the last line of defense of all the rest of them.
No, it should not be changed.

Try the 19th Amendment, outlawing liquor sales and production. There is a never ending list of stupid ideas that people want to change the Constitution for, that's why it is so hard to change it. There are several that should be repealed like the 17th.

It seems to work just fine as it is. If you really want the Governator running the country go ahead and change it, but I'm sure we could find a good natural-born citizen to do the job.
