reinstall audio drivers. Go to processes and turn on win audio. I have heard of ALOT of people with AOL having audio suddenly turned off over tha last two days. If you downloaded any burning software, or installed any codec packs, or installed any software to get around copyright or region code, you probably blew out your codecs. Reinstall th software. If you downloaded any VIDEO (not audio) recently from AOL it may have given you a different type of surprise I hear therte are ALOT of calls about that lately too.

1. Check the power on your speakers
2. Check the power connection to your speakers, and to the back of the computer to the speakers. If the cord is unplugged, plug it into the little green hole (about the size of a pencil eraser) on the back.
3. If it still isn't working, and everything is plugged in correctly, go to start > Control Panel(or depending on your computer, Settings > Control Panel) > Sounds and Audio Devices. Check the box "Place volume icon in the taskbar" if not already checked, make sure the slider is above "High"(all the way to the right), and click apply.
If you can't move the slider, make sure the box "Mute" isn't checked below it. Just to be safe, click "Speaker Volume..." and make sure both sliders are fully on "High".
4. In special situations, there are other proprietary software(the program your computer uses to make sound is made by some other company than Microsoft, Windows) issues that are all completely different, but ultimately are just a little setting somewhere that need to be fixed.
Test your sound. It should be working. Hope it helped!!
Honestly, if your sound still isn't working, feel free to contact me. I don't answer questions just for the points, so even if I don't get the Best Answer, I'd still love to help you out. That goes for everyone else out there with the same issue too.
