Not at all....Installing a higher capacity RAM will not at all improve your DVD writing speed, the writing speed of Dvd depends on the quality of the DVD writer u possess.

Adding more RAM will not make burning DVD's faster. The way to speed up DVD burning is to get a fast DVD burner, one that burns at 16X and blank DVD's that are rated for a 16X burner.

RAM isn't really related to burn time with DVDs. More RAM only makes more space for the software to run, the DVD burner still needs the time to physicly alter the blank disk to have something on it.

well that is about the cheapest upgrade and it will help speed up everything, but burning will be a minimal increase only becuase the software will have more available resources. best thing get a better burner. as for what type of ram well if it was a store bought pc ie compaq hp dell or so on contact your manufacturer. if it is not then you need to know the manufacturer of the motherboard and check their website.

do this. start burning a dvd and hit control, alt, delete. check your cpu usage. if its high, over 75%, then more ram should help some. it wont make a huge change though. u also have to look at ur processor speed, if ur running any other programs, etc. i wont put less than 1gb of ram in a computer nowadays. the new computer im building will have 2-4gb

it will let you run more applications at the same time as your burning i have 2 gigs in all my machines and it helps to ensure you have a good burn each time -go to www,crucial.com to run a program that will tell you what kind of memmory you have and try to install the most you can afford -thats the single and esiest way to speed up your system. when your burning a movie you dont want a memorry hungry program such as antivirus kicking on and drianing all you have because it will lead to a shortage in the buffer and you will end up with alot of coasters-hope this helps

no, installing more ram is not going to show any noticeable difference in burning time unless your computer is from the 90's or something.. they have pretty fast burners at wal-mart for $50.
